About Us
Pen-Rhos Luxury Glamping is a small family run glamping site offering the choice of three beautifully converted railway wagons that once carried goods along the Elan Valley railway line, built in 1904 to facilitate the construction of Birmingham Water Corporation Dams.
We are situated in the hills of Llanbister Powys, which is approximately a 10 minute drive from the famous spa town of Llandrindod Wells, well known for it’s architecture which dates back to the Victorian and Edwardian eras.
Approximately 15 minute drive from the Elan Valley where there is a very popular visitors center with café and gift shop, you can explore the 6 dams and see the numerous species of flora and fauna in their natural habitat which often attracts walkers, cyclists and photographers.
Glamping Accommodation
The Hare Hut, Cuckoo’s Nest and The Cwtch offer a comfortable, cosy and quirky glamping experience. All of our glamping wagons feature super comfy double beds, ensuite toilet and shower along with a full equipped kitchen and are fully heated making your stay warm and cosy whatever the weather! You’ll find that all bedding, linen and towels are included in your stay and we also provide complimentary tea, coffee and sugar.
The Hare Hut and The Cwtch both features a private hot tub and benefit from stunning views out over the countryside and you’ll find this is the perfect location to choose for a romantic getaway or for a few days of relaxation.

Things To Do In The Local Area
Pen-Rhos Luxury Glamping is set in the heart of Wales, with panoramic views of natural beauty literally on your doorstep. Pen-Rhos is the perfect spot to relax and unwind, cosy up for a romantic break for two or stretch those legs and explore the local area on foot. From castles to heritage railways, kayaking to rock climbing, golf to horse riding we have it all!
For avid walkers we recommend a walk to Water Break Its Neck waterfall in Warren Wood and mountain bikers will find plenty of trails in the area, including some great routes in Radnor Forest. Historic Llandrindod Wells is a short drive away from us or why not take to the water at the lovely Llandrindod Lake. There’s truly something for everyone!
